Dear 100 Hour Board,

I have a strong aversion to touching coins and jewelry. It creeps me out. Is there a name for this thing? Does it have anything to do with pica?

A: Dear picaena-

As far as I can tell, your fear is not officially named, but it is recognized as a "simple phobia." You aren't crazy. (Or any more crazy than most people, anyway.) It's okay to not wear jewelry, if you'd rather not. And you can use credit cards or the BYU signature card for most purchases. If this interferes with your life, though, see a mental health professional.

By the way, see a physician about pica. Especially if you are eating dirt, clay, or other toxic substances. If it's just ice, it's probably not a problem.

I have a strong aversion to touching elbows, is there a name for that?
