Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

Which department on campus has the most professors (by percentage) that are members of the LDS church? The least?

-Kevin Menzie

A: Dear Kevin,

BYU does not release those statistics, so the only way to track them down would be to ask all of the professors individually, which would be both time-consuming and invasive. That said, I'd guess the department with the most LDS professors is the religion department, and I'd guess the one with the least is in the sciences, maybe the Math department.

A: Dear Kevin,
I must disagree with Katya; due to several professors that are of other faiths that teach World Religions, the religion department doesn't have the highest percentage of professors that are members. My best bet would be one of the smaller departments, like Marriage and Family Therapy, which has only nine faculty members. In my own major, political science, I know of no faculty member that isn't a member of the Church (visiting professors exempted because they change).
