Dear 100 Hour Board,
I just wanted to add some information on Ayatollah's question about travel to Iran posted February 3rd. My brother actually attends the University of Tehran, in Tehran, the capital of Iran. He had no trouble traveling there and has had no negative experiences to date (he's been there since September). He loves Iran and has made plenty of friends at school. He encourages those who want to visit to carefully respect Islamic traditions of the country. That is all.....
Thank you for your comment. A lot of times, when people read reports that say a certain population is at a greater risk for harassment or kidnapping or cancer or whatever, they take that to mean that if you are a member of that population, you have a good chance of having those awful things happen to you. All it really means, of course, is that your risk is greater. For example, if you had a 1 in 100,000 of being harassed yesterday, you might only have a 1 in 99,000 chance of being harassed today. Such is the danger with the phrase "at a greater risk."
