Whenever he thought about it, he felt terrible. And so, at last, he came to a fateful decision. He decided not to think about it. ~John-Roger and Peter McWilliams

Dear 100 Hour Board,
If I have a gun permit in this state, and I am moving across state lines soon, do I need to obtain a permit in that state for my gun before I move or do they have a certain time period that I can have my gun while getting a permit?
- Hope that made sense

A: Dear Sense-maker,

Unfortunately, that depends on the state. Different states have different laws concerning guns, permits, and esPECially concealed carry permits. I would start the process now, talk to officials in your new state and find out what you need to do to get things sorted. Also, if you're interested, there is a book called "Firearms Laws of the 50 States" by Scott Kappas that you could probably find at the library.
