Dear 100 Hour Board,

I have a computer related question. Sometimes I have to use XP (who doesn't) and I've recently found better ways of navigation than the wretched start menu. However I can't get it to go away! I really like the 'windowmaker' gui, and I've found some software that makes windows behave very similarly, if not for that blasted start menu...

I tried shrinking it all the way and then locking it but it just isn't the same. Is there a way to banish it forever?

A: Dear Goomby,

There is a very good way to banish the Start menu...

I know, it's expensive at first... but I promise it is worth it.

As it stands, the Start menu is an essential part of Windows XP. I do not know any way to get rid of it.

There are, however, people who don't use XP... and never worry about a Start menu.

They are called "happy."
