Dear People Wondering about BoM retranslations,

If I am not mistaken, ALL non-english editions of the Book of Mormon are scheduled for a retranslation every 10 years.

- Pretty sure

A: Dear Pretty Sure,

That cannot be true, because many translations are much older than 10 years. One foreign Book of Mormon I have was translated in 1985. The other was recently re-translated in 1997, but I can't imagine them changing the translation within the next two years (the previous translation was at least 20 years old).

Plus, other readers have been referring to translations that are 20+ years old, specifically Russian was mentioned as being a very old translation.

I think the translation department reviews translations on a regular basis, but clearly not "ALL" translations are retranslated every decade.

That is all.
