Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

Which state has the longest coast line? I have heard 3 different answers (California, Michigan, and Maine (Maine because of all the inlets and islands)) and don't know which is right.

A: Dear Beach Lover,

The state with the longest coastline is actually Alaska, measuring at about 5,580 miles. For comparison, California's coastline is 840 miles, Michigan's is 3,121 miles, and Maine's is 3,500 miles.

- Optimistic.
