Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

Why is Nephi's quoting of Isaiah in 1 Nephi 21:25 different than the JST (shown in footnote 24a)?

- Buddy

A: Buddy,

This is the thought out answer, as opposed to an explantion, as I have yet to see Joseph describing this anamoly.

The plates Nephi was inscribing were copies of the plates he brought from Jerusalem, which were copies of the original words.

As with a Xerox machine, copies lose clarity after awhile.

To note, Joseph never did finish his translation of the Bible due to persecution.

So, this scripture was important enough to be done by Joseph Smith.

To note, the Book of Mormon is known as the most correct</I> book.
