Whenever he thought about it, he felt terrible. And so, at last, he came to a fateful decision. He decided not to think about it. ~John-Roger and Peter McWilliams

Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,
What do AM and PM stand for?
- I know that I heard it somewhere, I just don't remember (kind of like the stuff I was suppost to know for my finals)

A: Dear normal college student,

What a sad commentary on our educational system and work ethics for me to agree so readily with you!

AM = ante-meridian
PM = post-meridian

Ante means before; post means after; meridian means middle, in this case NOON. So it just designates time either before or after noon.
