Whenever he thought about it, he felt terrible. And so, at last, he came to a fateful decision. He decided not to think about it. ~John-Roger and Peter McWilliams

Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

Is there a certain time of the summer that is cheaper to travel than the rest of the summer?

I am trying to search airfare to Juneau, Alaska, and have found that the rates do not change from June-August. However, I was wondering if they might change as the summer goes on.

A: Dear boo koo,
Luckily for you, I know two travel agents who have been in the business for over 15 years. They said that going to Alaska during the summer is not going to help you if you want a lower fare. Why? Summertime IS the on-season for Alaska. The fares never change in the summer. But there is hope--sometimes airlines have sales. That would be your best bet for getting a better price. And if you want a better price without a sale, you'd have to wait until mid-September or so.
