Oh, there he goes off to his room to write that hit song "Alone in my principles."

Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

What's the trick to walking on ice without slipping and falling?

- Bruised

A: Dear Bruised,

Don't wear Dr. Martin's shoes.

A: Dear Bruised,

Don't push off from the balls of your feet. Don't roll your feet at all. Walk flat footed - plant your foot before you transfer weight to it. It's kind of weird, but once you get used to it, you can walk at normal speed across ice (assuming that it's fairly level - slopes add a whole new level of difficulty)

A: Dear Bruised,

Crawl.

A: Dear Bruised,

Traction helps. Or you can just scuff or skate your way across the ice w/o ever picking your feet up.

A: Dear Bruised,

Golf shoes. Really. Pick up some old ones at DI or something. Of course, they're rather noisy once you get in a building, but they're supreme when it comes to traction.

A: Dear Bruised-

Balance.
