Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

Driving up Provo Canyon (1-89) there is construction going on up on the hillside on the left side. What are they building/fixing?

NKOTB

A: Dear NKOTB,

Construction on this 44 acre park commenced in early May 2002. The Park is designed around a nature interpretive/passive theme. It features picnic shelters, pavilions, hiking and nature interpretive trails, access to the Bonneville Shoreline and Great Western Trails, large turf areas, restrooms, and parking. It will also serve as the home for the annual Timpanogos Story Telling Festival held in August of each year. All of the utilities, irrigation system, hard-scape, pavilions, hosting center and architectural features are in and near completion. Work will progress through the winter on the interior of the structures. Landscaping work will commence as soon as weather permits in the spring. This park should be available for use by spring 2004. Canyon Park is located off of Highway 189 in Provo Canyon.
