Dear 100 Hour Board,

I hear Ancestry.com is free to students. Do I have to be on campus to access it, or can I login from my appartment?

A: Dear The Happy One,

If you go to the Library's web site (http://www.lib.byu.edu) and select "Databases A-Z" you will notice that Ancestry.com is not available off campus.

So enjoy your free entitlements on campus.

Good luck!
A: Dear Happy One,

Ancestry.com has provided that any IP address coming from the BYU campus will get full access to their system. So, you have to log on from a BYU computer or be connected to the internet on campus.

Still, this isn't a bad deal. You can always lug your computer up to campus every time you want to check your family history!

But, it is free... so... beggers shant be choosers.

That is all.
