Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

Thanks for your advice a while back about Linux. I am now using Mandrake 9.1 and it is quite nice. However, I downloaded the (free) educational version of Sun's StarOffice 7 (so-7-ga-bin-linux-en.bin) and am having trouble installing it. I have already enabled permission to execute the file, but when I log in as super user and try to execute it, an error shows up. It complains that so-7-ga-bin-linux-000.bin and so-7-ga-bin-linux-001.bin are missing. I can't find any help online about this, so if your wondrous omniscience could shed some light on the problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Webmaster, thanks for recommending Firefox. I love it!

A: Dear e:

Instead of trying to mess with StarOffice, get OpenOffice, which is basically the same software but under an Open Source license, and for which there is already a Mandrake 9.1 package.
