Dear 100 Hour Board,
I am searching for a tape (or at least a list of the songs and artists and hopefully sheet music) for a Youth tape from the 80's that I think was called Free To Choose. I remember the cover of the cassette was a bunch of seminary kids, dressed in denim and plaid, sitting on various levels of hay bales in a barn.
Do you know anything about this tape and where I can find it please? Or just get hold of the songs? Any additional information as to why it was produced would be great too.
Thanks, your loyal fan
~Blue Haired Lady
BYU's library owns copies of both the cassette and the sheet music. If you're not near Provo, you may be able to inter-library loan a copy of the sheet music, although they probably won't loan out the cassette. For what it's worth, the cassette was published in 1986 and the songbook came out in 1987. Ron Simpson is listed as an "author" for the cassette, but not the songbook (maybe he did the vocals?), and both were published by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The following songs are on the tape:
"Free to choose" -- To build a dream for me -- That's you and that's me -- I'd like to feel this way again -- I feel the answer -- With the touch of His hand -- Share it with you -- Listen well -- All kinds of room in my heart -- Will He really answer me?
If you're looking to find a copy for yourself, I'd recommend keeping an eye out on eBay or on Deseret Book's auction site.
