Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

At which point along the spectrum which ranges from deciding to get divorced to being legally divorced is the appropriate time to quit wearing one's wedding ring?

A: Dear In a Tough Situation,

I checked around for advice from Miss Manners and the like, but there doesn't seem to be any established etiquette on the matter, so I'll give you my own thoughts. People will probably notice when you stop wearing your wedding ring, and they may ask you about it, so you shouldn't stop wearing your ring before you're ready to talk about your current marital situation (and you definitely shouldn't just stop wearing your ring if your husband doesn't know your intentions). On the other end of the spectrum, I think it would be a little weird to wear your wedding ring after your divorce is final, unless you're wearing it to avoid unwanted male attention. In the end, most people won't notice or care, so I think you can do what you want to do.
