Dear 100 Hour Board,

Does it bother anyone else that BYU-Idaho and BYU-Provo are both referred to as being BYU? Whenever someone asks where I am going to college I tell them "BYU" and their immediate response is "which one?" Maybe I am biased, but to me Provo is "The BYU" with BYU-Idaho being its own separate school.
Any Thoughts?

Woah. Déjà vu. See Board Question #42211 (and Board Question #43932 for a follow-up comment).

A: Dear Tyler ~

You must live close to BYU-Idaho. Here's the thing, everyone up there is still getting used to it being BYU-Idaho and not Ricks. But if you pay attention, hardly anyone calls BYU-Idaho just BYU. They call it BYU-Idaho, BYU-I, or Ricks.

Mostly it's just a confusing transition, especially for a collection of older generations that have grown up with it being Ricks. My suggestion is to just be patient with them and not get prideful or offended. What good will it do? They'll learn eventually.

Poor lonely, ignored, slighted BYU-Hawaii. I know you're there, little buddy.
