Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

Hello! I'm majoring in Sociology and I suck at math. I'm required to take Sociology 300 (stats of sociology) or Statistics 221. I'm tempted to take the sociology course because it seems more relevant and interesting, but it scares me because it's an upper-level class. Any advice?

A: Dear Coach Z,

Dude, go with the Soc class. I took the Psych section of stats (I think it's Psych 301), and it was super easy. Basically, it was statistics for people who don't care about statistics but need a basic understanding of it to work in the social sciences. Scope out the professors who are teaching it (hey psychology majors: FLOM IS THE WAY TO GO ON THIS ONE) and buddy up to your TA (I was a TA for the Psych section, and they're cool people) and you'll be just fine.
