Dear 100 Hour Board,

Now I remember hearing on the radio a few years back the Phil Collins' song "In the Air Tonight" extended mix that is played on the radio often, is actually not him drumming but the BYU marching band. Now I was just looking to find any documentation on that as I have tried to Google™ it with no result. Do you know of any collaboration between BYU and Phil Collins? Thanks for your time!

- Adam

A: Dear Adam,

I have now heard from three past and present BYU Marching Band directors whose tenure at BYU span the time back to when the Phil Collins song was released in 1981. They all confirm that the BYU Marching Band/Phil Collins collaboration is an urban legend. One director went so far as to suggest it is a "faith-promoting rumor."

So, at the risk of weakening the faith of some poor Genesis or Collins fan, I am declaring this myth busted.
