Dear 100 Hour Board,
Tim Dechristopher: hero or villain, or somewhere inbetween?
-Marduk, slayer of Tiamat
I would say somewhere in between. Neither hero nor villain, just a regular person who felt strongly about something and took a stand. The action he took was illegal, which he knew at the time, and he was convicted for it. I don't personally think that he was justified in placing fraudulent bids to try to disrupt (or raise the price of) federal leases. There were many other things he could have done to protest the leases. However, he felt strongly, he took the action, and he was punished.
