Dear 100 Hour Board,

Actually, in Oregon, the white signs just say "speed", not "speed limit". According to court rulings in that state, this is not actually a limit but is a "recommended maximum speed". In fact, you can legally drive over the posted speed -- however, a police officer can pull you over anytime he deems you to be going too fast for conditions. It's the only state in the country where I've seen something like that.
