Dear 100 Hour Board,
I am looking for some church-y music for some sisters to sing at a Relief Society activity. The theme for the activity is "As I Have Loved You" and the theme for the ward this year is unity. So, I am trying to find compilations or arrangements that involve either or both of those themes. We would need to be able to access the sheet music somehow, with a very small budget (preferably free). The activity is outside so we won't have access to a piano but we could possibly play background music or have someone playing an acoustic guitar or something like that.
Oh Board, will you please help me? I'm not even sure where to start.
The standard arrangement of "Love One Another" would be really nice if you sang it with an acoustic guitar and had a singer or two sing the optional obligato on the last verse. You could also have an instrument (e.g. violin, flute) play the obligato.
Another option is to sing "I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus." It's a little unexpected for a Relief Society activity since it's a Primary song, and I like the idea of an acoustic guitar for accompaniment. This arrangement has a violin obligato you could play during the second verse (although the arrangement itself probably wouldn't work without a piano).
It's a pretty tall order to find a nice, free, piano-less arrangement, but hopefully one of these ideas will work.
