Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,
Today is Friday the 3rd. I just walked into the main CAEDM lab on the fourth floor of the Clyde building and noticed all the old monitors are gone and there are now these giant flat screens. How big are these monitors, and what is the purpose of such a large screen? I find them overwhelming. Also, when were these installed?

A: Dear Bored Engineer,

What kind of engineering are you in!? Civil? Having a large screen is very nice when you have to debug a lot of code, or some schematic in PSPICE. Since many windows are required to be open at the same time, a larger screen lets you see more data without having to alt+tab between windows.

As for your other questions, the new flat screens are 19 inch, and they were installed last Wednesday, the 2nd according to the CAEDM admins.
