Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,
Why does Texas have more pride than any other state? Texas flags are proudly displayed in dormitory windows all over campus; "Don't mess with Texas" shirts seem to be a staple to former residents; a significant number of country songs are solely about Texas. I can't say the same for any other state. Why?

A: Dear Batman,
My 8-year-old-Texan cousin blurted out about 5 reasons when my sister and I jokingly asked her this question (but she's 8-they start 'em young I guess). I can't remember them all, but something to do with Texas is the only state that could secede from the nation if it wanted to, according to its constitution, because it was its own country... yada yada yada. Just let them be prideful and move on. There's another answer about this in our archives if you're interested.
