Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

I'm thinking about buying a study Bible. Any recommendations?

A:

Dear Felix,

I have found the Zondervan NIV Study Bible to be a great resource, especially for studying the Old Testament. See my comment on Board Question #59935 for more information.

If you're looking for more options to consider, I used the HarperCollins Study Bible for a NT class at BYU, and really liked it. I've also heard good things about the New Oxford Annotated Bible. These both use the NRSV translation, which I like because it is written in modern English but maintains the formal tone I'm used to from reading the KJV.
