Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

I attend a school that has wireless internet throughout the whole campus (I can even get it at the bus stop outside my building which I think is pretty cool). I have iTunes on my laptop, and whenever I open the program on campus, a list of shared music comes up. When I move to different buildings the list will change, but some of the same users remain. Are the users listed just from my building, or are they from the entire network?

A: Dear Carolina Girl,

Not knowing what college campus you are on, or how they have their network set up, it is impossible to answer your question. The technical answer is that you will probably be able to see anybody on the same subnet. Your campus could set up all of the wireless with the same subnet, or they could have many subnets throughout campus. It all depends on how it's programed.
