Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,
Why does the water fountain outside the bathrooms on the bottom floor of the Wilkinson Center, near Women's Resources and Services, taste funny in the morning? It tastes metallic. And also it doesn't shoot very high. Later in the day it tastes fine and shoots high enough to drink from it. It's a bother because it is the fountain I use to drink from before I go to work.
- Yucky-tasting mouth

A: Dear mouthy,
Here's the deal: after water has been sitting in the pipes all night, more metal has dissolved into it, and the water pressure bleeds off a little bit. Later in the day, the water is fresher (not having spent as much time in the pipes) and the water pressure is higher. Hence your experience.
