Dear 100 Hour Board,

When is it appropriate to sit next to someone you like in church? How do you express interest in someone without being clingy or creepy? How do the answers to both of the above change after the first or second date?

-shy but interested

Dear you,

Really, don't stress about it. If you want to sit next to someone, go for it! If the conversation is enjoyable for you, it probably is for them as well. If you're starting to feel awkward about sitting next to them for the second or third time, ask them on a date and see what happens.

Honestly, I rarely know what to do after the first date. But my advice would be, if you like this person, don't back off unless you get real hints that they're not as interested as you are. If they like you too, it will work out somehow.

Good luck!
