Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

If you could guaranteed dial up your motivation n percent but it would cost you n percent of your energy level what n would you pick?

-Steve

A:

Dear Steve,

I don't think I'd trade more than 5% of my energy level for motivation. Like Sheebs says below, energy and motivation tend to go together, so I can't see how it would help to be much more motivated but lacking energy.

Also, I'm pretty tired most of the time anyway, so yeah.

Dear Gummi Bears,

Probably a 80/20 split. I feel like if you have a compelling enough need to do something, you can do it regardless of energy. People do impossible things in the name of what they're passionate about. And in the name of caffeine. Anyways, 80/20 split.

Dear Jobs,

Um, right now this would be great and all except my motivation and energy levels are both at zero so

Keep it real,

Dear Steve,

I think you just described what atypical depression is like. And the opposite effect is probably generalized anxiety.

Right on.
