Question #89405 posted on 04/21/2017 3:26 a.m.

Dear 100 Hour Board,

After getting SO excited to help answer Question 89349 and the thrill of seeing my answer posted, I realized you folks work your tails off yet there's nothing in return. At best you get a "like" or two (I mean, do you even get a notification for likes?), and at worst people repeat their questions complaining they didn't get the answer they wanted. You don't even know if the asker read your carefully researched answer; this isn't so much the 100 Hour Board as the 10^4 Ungrateful Lepers Board! I guess you just find satisfaction in work well done, huh?
So to help tip the balance, however insignificantly, I'm writing this "question" just to say thank you to you all, and to tell you I appreciate tremendously all your effort that goes into keeping this wonderful community thriving. That it is a labor of love shines clearly and brightly. :)
Thank you to all of you, with extra thanks to Van Goff, Zedability, Sunday Night Banter, The Entomophagist, Spectre, Frère Rubik, Sherpa Dave, Sheebs, Anathema (for whom special applause is due for answering half of my 10-and-counting-questions), and of course, thank you to Alta, who introduced me to the Board a little over a month ago (and who now knows who's writing this and is discovering how involved I have become, and whom I imagine is frantically trying to identify just which were my questions. HA! Good luck!).
You all are true mask-wearing superheros.

Cheers, and best of luck with finals,*
-The Easter Bunny

Dear Eager Easter,

Thank you so much for writing this in! It feels really nice to get acknowledgment occasionally that someone appreciates all the answers I write. :) As far as the up-voting of my answers go, while there aren't notifications, I check obsessively enough that I know whenever I do get more votes for a question (hint hint, readers, I appreciate you even more when you give those green thumbs).

I agree that Alta is pretty great. She was the one who introduced me to the Board too (and, you know, she's just a wonderful sister in general).

P.S. Depending on how you know Alta, I'm kind of curious if I know you in real life too (if you want to sort out this mysterious conundrum, you can always email me at anathema@theboard.byu.edu).

Dear Bright Green Easter Bunny,

Thanks for the "question" and the love and the special shout-out. I legitimately started tearing up in the library when I saw this and it was embarrassing and weird, but then again last week I started crying when I was watching The Great British Baking Show and my favorite contestant won star baker, so clearly my life isn't under control.

Anyway, I'm glad that you love the Board so much. It's gratifying to know that at least someone is reading our answers.

Dear friend,

Thank you so much for asking this question. Often just having somewhere to anonymously voice my opinions and feelings feels like reward enough, but this was a great reminder to me, today especially, that people are listening. Thanks for making my day!

Keep it real,
Sherpa Dave
