Dear 100 Hour Board,

Do you have any alien language movie quotes memorized?

-Iwanawanga! (RotJ)

Dear you,

Part of the training for my internship has involved both general and detailed knowledge of the Walt Disney World parks, and our culminating assessment was a 100-question test. Every day during training, our leaders would give us a question or two to give us a feel for what we should be expecting.

One day, the question they chose to share was "How do you say 'I see you' in Na'vi?" If you aren't aware, that's the fictional language from the movie Avatar, which isn't even a Disney film, nor is it at all relevant to my job.

Obviously I didn't bother learning something so useless, I just memorized the answer well enough to choose it out of the provided options, but for a while there I was seriously panicked about how difficult that test would be, if speaking an alien movie language was expected.

Dear Jeremy,

The only thing that comes to mind is "Nanu Nanu!" from Mork & Mindy.

I guess technically that's a TV quote, but I'm going to count it anyway.

Dang, I miss Robin Williams.

Dear Iorana,

Not alien, but when I got to my school in South America they had me to a Spanish language assessment to see my skill level. "Some people don't write anything, so just do whatever you can," the counselor told me. Not wanting to not write anything, but also not really knowing Spanish, I wrote something like,

"Donde esta mi perro? Mi perro es mi favorito. Mi perro es mi corazon. ...Buena suerte."

Which is a line that I memorized from Bewitched with Will Ferrell. They put me in the second level of Spanish, but I moved down to the first level after a week of not understanding anything.
