Question #90127 posted on 08/11/2017 5:26 p.m.

Dear 100 Hour Board,

The answer to Board Question #70228 predicted that Board Question #100000 would be asked in August 2017. Since I just asked question 90127 in mid-July 2017, I don't think we are going make it. I did consider trying to ask 9783 questions in the next month, but decided against it. Can I then re-ask Board Question #70228? Maybe Board Question #100000 should just be skipped since the asker of Board Question #70228 already called dibs on it and Board Question #83686 already answered it.

Dear 867-5309,

Sorry for the delay; I picked this up mid-July when you asked it and then all of the sudden I had no time.

First, I salute your knowledge of Vienna's deep cuts, as demonstrated by your linking of Board Question #83686.

Second, I'm afraid I don't have the time or the means to do an analysis as thorough as the old one that yayfulness did, but I can give an estimate. Since you asked this question, we've had 121 other questions roll into the inbox (yes, when questions come in, they roll), so the most recent question is now the upcoming Board Question #90248 (stay tuned!). That leaves 9,752 questions until the magic Board Question #100000. Recently, I've been talking to people about how many questions we get per day. It can depend from day to day, but a good average estimate tends to be around 15 questions per day. Based on that estimate, I divided 9,752 by 15 and found that it was almost exactly 650, meaning that Question #100,000 would come in on May 23, 2019. I hereby stake that as my estimate.

But, again, all of this speculation about #100,000 is a bit futile because we already know the answer is 8.
