Dear 100 Hour Board,
Like boy 1 for like a year. Tell boy 1 at one point. Boy 1 says he's on the rebound from recent girlfriend and it's not mutual. Move on.
Meet boy 2. Mutual like happens. Semi-start dating boy 2.
Boy 1 has a change of like and wants to try again. Like for Boy 1 still there, but Boy 2 is also amazing.
Doesn't want to hurt anyone. Tempted to date none of them.
What would you do?
-Confused, never had this happen before
I'm not really sure what I would try to do. Probably I'd continue semi-dating Boy 2, but keep things away from an exclusive relationship, and try out a couple of dates with Boy 1. I'm not sure how good I'd be at this part, but I think it's also important to be open about the fact with both boys that you aren't just dating them.
However, this situation could only last for so long. Eventually I'd have to chose one over the other or neither. But hopefully I'd then be in a better position to gauge my feelings for each guy.
Of course, this answer is only what I would do given your scenario. But take comfort in the fact that no matter what you decide, things will probably all work out for you.
My grandpa often liked to say that we don't live in a risk-free world, and I think that's pertinent here. Inevitably, choosing someone means that you can't choose the other one, and likely someone will feel hurt. (Or both might be hurt if you choose neither.) I think that's a valiant cause, but it's okay to feel a little hurt, and it's okay to be a little selfish in choosing someone.
I'm not sure what I would do because it sounds really tough. But I would try to love the choice I made, and hopefully that would make it work okay.
