Q:

Dear The Board,

I was driving behind a car today that had a license plate that let me know the driver was a veteran. It went so far as to say "Honorably Discharged" on it, which got me wondering, is it possible to get a license plate that says "Dishonorably Discharged" on it?

A:

Dear Nellie,

It doesn't look like it. Apparently, "Veterans benefits are not usually available to those discharged through this type of discharge" (meaning dishonorable discharges). As that license plate is likely a benefit given to veterans, those who are dishonorably discharged would not be able to receive it. They'd have to be content with a bumper sticker. (Which currently doesn't exist. Gee, I wonder why?)
