Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

What happened to the flag on top of Squaw Peak? I know there used to be one there (it's even in the archives: Board Question #78790), but when I hiked the peak recently I didn't see it.

A:

Dear Ted Masters,

From what I've seen in my years as a Provo native, the flag gets taken down if there's a significant storm forecasted, and before the first snow. This is, of course, to preserve the flag from the weather. So if you hiked it recently before the rainstorms, that's probably why.
