Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

I am planning on going back to school to get my masters. Do you have any suggestions on laptops? I don't need anything fancy just the basics.

-Thanks

Dear leroy njenkins,

Are you attending BYU? If so, you might consider using the Office of IT's computer rental program. If you're just word processing and internet browsing, it'll probably work quite nicely.

If you're going to be getting your own, I have a Microsoft Surface Book from 2016 and like it pretty well. There's newer models that are probably improved.

Dear Thanksgiving,

I would suggest just asking people in your program what they use. I did that and ended up with a MacBook Pro and am really satisfied with it. It really depends on what you're going into, especially if there are specific programs (like coding or spreadsheets) that you need, but if it doesn't matter, I would suggest just going with something you're already familiar with.

Best of luck!

Dear Master,

I agree with the other answers, but if you are looking for a Windows laptop, the most widely recommended one from the last few years has been the Dell XPS 13. Seriously, look up reviews on Youtube. Almost everyone loves it, and it is relatively affordable for a high quality laptop.
