Dear 100 Hour Board,
I’ve got a daughter who gets sunburned quite easily. She will be 6 this Spring. I’m looking for clothing (long sleeves and pants and long sleeve dresses) that is good for 100-110 weather that is still stylish while preventing sunburn. Any good leads??

Dear your name,
I’d recommend getting clothing that is made to protect from the sun and has some UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor). A regular white shirt has a UPF rating of 5, which means it lets about 20% of UV radiation through. But a shirt that has a UPF of 50, would only let about 2% of the sun’s rays through.
Here’s some well-reviewed sun-protected clothing brands and lists that I found to help with your search:
- List of recommended clothing brands by the Skin Cancer Foundation
- List of sun-protective swimwear for kids by dermatologists
- UV Skinz (They have swimwear and everyday clothes for kids that have a UPF rating of 50+)
