Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

If you had a wart on your nostril, and you slapped on those Dr. Scholl’s corn remover pads for about a week, would the whole nostril likely turn white and fall off irreparably, or would the cartilage likely be unaffected and the skin eventually grow back leaving you normal looking again?

A:

Dear Of the Opera,

Um, please don't try that. Just go to a dermatologist.

But I guess I can also give my best conjecture about what would happen. Based on Dr. Scholls' website, as well as this WebMD page, those pads apparently work by breaking up and softening the dead skin. I don't think it would have that same effect on living skin (although I could definitely be wrong here), so it seems unlikely that your whole nostril would fall off. However, I also found warnings about keeping those pads away from your "eyes, nose, mouth, groin, or any broken skin," to avoid irritation, so again, while I think your nose would recover eventually, it isn't an advisable idea.
