Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

According to this open source character personality test, which fictional character are you most like?

https://openpsychometrics.org/tests/characters/

-abed, apparently

A:

Dear abcd,

My top Pearson correlation is Ambrose Spellman at 87%; my top mean difference match Jake Sisko at 79%. I've seen neither the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina nor Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, so I have no idea what that says about me.

Top correlations from universes I am more familiar with:

  • Tyrion Lannister (Game of Thrones). 77% (The serious-looking one. Though that's all of them, isn't it?)
  • Remus Lupin (Harry Potter). 86% (Woof woof)
  • Ginny Weasley (Harry Potter): 83% (Just 'cause she's a ginger)
  • Jim Halpert (The Office). 76% (He's like of the two normal people on this show, so I guess that's alright)
  • Elizabeth Bennet (Pride and Prejudice). 83% (A favorite character of mine!)
  • Iroh (Avatar: The Last Airbender). 83% (Another favorite! Though I hear lots of people are similar to him)
  • Bruce Banner (Marvel Cinematic Universe). 77% (Eh, he's fine I guess)
  • Lisa Simpson (The Simpsons). 72% (I... guess?)
  • Obi-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars). 75% (Heck yeah!)
  • Frodo Baggins (Lord of the Rings). 78% (I'd rather be Sam)
  • Leonard Hofstadter (The Big Bang Theory). 70% (I only kept this one for you, Soulful Ginger)
  • Ann Perkins (Parks and Recreation). 70% (Again, maybe the normalest character)
  • Zoe Washburne (Firefly + Serenity). 78% (Nah, she's way cooler than me)
  • Glenn Rhee (The Walking Dead). 84% (Seems legit)
  • Peeta Mellark (The Hunger Games). 74% (Meh)
  • Lucius Fox (The Dark Knight). 79% (Go technology!)
  • Nala (The Lion King). 79% (Wha....?
  • Willow Rosenberg (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). 82% (She seems cool!)
  • Rachel Chu (Crazy Rich Asians). 82% (Another normal one)
  • Will Turner (Pirates of the Caribbean). 77% (I guess more than Jack Sparrow?)
  • Mrs. Hudson (Sherlock). 73% (I'll take it)
  • Friar Laurence (Romeo and Juliet). 75% (????)
  • Nick Carraway (The Great Gatsby). 68% (The normal one again, I guess)

-El-ahrairah

A:

Dear Doctor,

Apparently, my best Pearson correlation match is Katara (87% match)! I'm glad I got a character I'm already familiar with.

Other universes I checked out:

  • Friends: Monica Geller (70%)
  • Harry Potter: Ginny Weasley (86%)
    • She was also my top mean difference match at 74%
  • The West Wing: Abby Bartlet (pc, 82%); CJ Cregg (md, 66%)
  • Pride and Prejudice: Elizabeth Bennet (83%)
  • Marvel Cinematic Universe: Agent Peggy Carter (77%)
  • Star Wars: Princess Leia (pc, 75%); Luke Skywalker (md, 64%)
  • LOTR: Frodo Baggins (79%)
  • Parks and Rec: Ann Perkins (pc, 80%); Leslie Knope (md, 66%)
  • Firefly + Serenity: Inara (pc, 76%); Simon (md, 60%)
  • Community: Shirley Bennett (75%)
  • Hunger Games: Peeta Mellark (71%)
  • The Dark Knight: Rachel Dawes (76%)
  • The Lion King: Nala (84%)
  • Sherlock: Mrs. Hudson (81%)

This was really cool to try! I like the company I keep.

I was gonna add my stats from the larger list at the bottom, but I neglected to do so the first time I took it. I don't feel like redoing all the stats I added, so I guess this is all we get.

-Tally M.

P.S. I did the extra survey questions, and some of the characteristics they asked me to help rate were pretty entertaining. I always like helping make data better.

A:

Dear friend,

My highest match (84%) was George Michael Bluth from Arrested Development. I have no idea what to do with that information. John Watson from Sherlock was my #4, and I feel like that's probably the closest match to how I see myself.

Though this is proof that my awkward shyness is a a core part of myself to such a degree that I apparently resemble a Michael Cera character.

Other characters I am apparently like in some way:

Game of Thrones: Samwell Tarley (82%... I have no idea who this is because I don't watch Game of Thrones but he was my #2 so)

LOTR: Frodo Baggins (79%)

The Good Place: Chidi Anagonye (77%... honestly that's probably the most realistic match, I am a very neurotic person)

Harry Potter: Arthur Weasley (74%)

Community: Annie Edison (73%)

Pride and Prejudice: Charles Bingley (71%)

Star Trek: TNG: Data (70%)

Some of the lowest percentages I recognized were Bart Simpson, Noah Puckerman, Ryan from The Office, and pretty much all of the other Arrested Development characters (George Bluth Sr, Lucille Bluth, GOB)... which is fine by me, because none of those characters are people that I want to be like.

A:

Dear abed,

My highest match was Betsy Heron from Mean Girls (92%). I've seen the movie but didn't remember who this was at all. She's Cady's mom, a scientist and a parent so I guess that probably fits.

Glamorous!

~ Dragon Lady, who is especially happy about Jane Bennet being so high.
A:

Dear you,

Thanks to Dragon Lady for calling my attention to this one! OK, I took it twice - once with the "recommended" setting (30 questions), and once with the "extensive" or whatever ... the one with all the questions. (I skipped almost all the emoji questions because they were mostly all unintelligible. I skipped 2-3 of the written questions also, but only - again - if they were totally confusing continuums. If I had to figure it out, it got skipped.)

Recommended (30-question) survey:

Closest match: Alice Cullen from Twilight. I don't know who that is, but Dragon Lady tells me she's good! 88% match.

Sherlock: Mrs. Hudson (85%) THIS IS THE BEST ONE OF ALL OF THEM (and she's my top one when I select "mean difference" instead of "Pearson correlation.")

Harry Potter: Ginny Weaseley (84%)

Star Trek Next Generation: Guinan (84%)

Pride and Prejudice: Elizabeth Bennet (83%)

Firefly: Inara (83%)

West Wing: Abbey Bartlett (81%) YESSSSS

Buffy: Willow (79%)

The Office: Pam Beaseley (79%)

Parks and Rec: Ann Perkins (78%)

Star Wars: Princess Leia (75%)

Lord of the Rings: Merry Brandybuck (71%)

Marvel Universe: Tony Stark (70%)

I haven't watched much X-Files, but just for Chillylint, I got Mulder (63%) :)

Huge survey: (Chilly -- I got Scully this time, 76% HAHA. What can you do?)

Closest match: Deanna Troi from Star Trek Next Generation! Whoooooooo this is a good one! (87%)

Sherlock: Still Mrs. Hudson! 85% still! Excellent.

Parks and Rec: Leslie Knope, 84%

West Wing: Josiah Bartlett, 83%

Harry Potter: Hermione, 81%

Star Wars: Princess Leia, 81%

The Office: Pam, 81%

Firefly: Inara, 81%

Buffy: Willow, 80%

Pride and Prejudice: Elizabeth Bennet, 78%

Marvel Universe: Peggy Carter, 78%

Lord of the Rings: Gandalf, 75% (how I went from Merry to Gandalf is beyond me)

OK, this was awesome, thanks for asking this question :)

-Olympus

A:

Dear Abed,

The first time I took this test I got Smithers from The Simpsons which I reject, because ouch.

This time around my #1 was Michael Bluth from Arrested Development. Which is probably one of the better Bluth characters to resemble, but still not a characterization I find particularly flattering.

Among other franchises with which I am familiar, I am most like:

Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)

C-3PO (Star Wars)

Raymond Holt (Brooklyn-99)

Chidi Anagonye (The Good Place)

Sansa Stark (Game of Thrones)

Toby Ziegler (The West Wing)

Odo (Deep Space Nine)

Stanley Hudson (The Office)

Ross Gellar (Friends)

Lisa Simpson (The Simpsons)

Filius Flitwick (Harry Potter)

Johnny Rose (Schitt's Creek)

The Nurse (Romeo and Juliet)

...all of which rank as an 80% or higher match. Some of them are dead on, for better or for worse.

Love,

Luciana

A:

Dear friend,

I've taken this test a couple of times already and I know I've gotten Lisa Simpson, Leslie Knope, and Hermione Granger before.

Today I took it twice because I knew the first time I was answering with what I *wish* I was, not what I actually am (I.e. I am definitely more of a stick-in-the-mud than I want to admit, so I took it a bit more honestly the second time.)

On the first attempt, I got Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

On the second, more honest attempt I got Amy Santiago from Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Dana Scully from The X-Files, and honestly, I'm okay with that.

A few other characters that are up there that I'm familiar with include Mycroft Holmes, Walter Skinner, Chidi Anagonye, and Mr. Darcy.

Cheers,

Guesthouse

A:

Dear Troy and Abed in the MORNING,

The first time I took it I got Mercedes Jones from Glee (which I've never seen).

The second time I got Kurt Hummel, also from Glee.

So apparently I should watch Glee? I have no idea if it's good or bad that I matched with those characters.

A:

You,

I took it few times. The first time the top one was the mom in Downton Abbey and I didn't like that because I don't know anything about her. The second time I took it I got Luna Lovegood, which feels accurate but I don't know. She's fine? But the one I'm excited about is that every time Uncle Iroh was really high on the list. So I'm running with it.
