Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

Tonight I was randomly thinking about vinyls and suddenly realized how cool it would be to have a record player. Maybe this is just a brief phase and I'll move on to other interests in the next few days, but humor me for a moment. If I were to pursue this idea, is there anything I need to know to make sure that if I do it I do it right? Like are there brands I should avoid, brands I should look for, best places to buy record players and vinyls, etc? Preferably cheaply but also good quality.

Thanks :)

Yo Pear,

Sorry it's been a bit before I was able to get to your question. I sat on it for a few days trying to find a time where I could ask my roommate about his vinyls, and then he ended up not having any super big advice about it. Unfortunate.

My advice to you would be to just ask people who own record stores, even if you don't end up buying records there. I'm quite sure that anyone passionate enough to work at a record store would be happy to help. If you're in Provo, the two that I can think of are 3hive Record Lounge and Platinum Music and Sports Collectibles, but apparently there's also one called FYE? I dunno, I just looked it up on Google maps.

Anyway, best of luck!
