Dear 100 Hour Board,
On the question posted 10/22/04 about the most expensive temple, I heard that it was actually the Vernal temple, which used to be a tabernacle. When the church got done doing all the renovating and gutting of the old building (+ restoration, etc.), it ended up costing them a lot more than if they had just built it from the ground up. Consequently, the church stopped doing this type of temple construction.

A: Dear traveler of Vernal Utah,

That may be true, but it sounds remarkably like what they just did for the Manhattan temple. Then again, they may not have had much choice concerning where to build in Manhattan.
