Dear 100 Hour Board,

What made you smile today?

A:

Dear Smiles,

Laying in my hammock, reading, with my wind chimes chiming, sunlight streaming across me, and the scent of rain on the air.

Dear Happy,

My dog, my coworkers, my friend complimenting me, and a note of appreciation from a leader at work.

Love,

Dear Happy,

Today, while I was walking to campus, I saw the big storm clouds , and I always think they're pretty. I also love the sound of thunder, so that was pretty great as well. Luckily, I did not get caught in the actual precipitation.

Dear friend,

I finished a big exam today and then I deep-cleaned the house. I hate folding laundry, but I got all of it folded and put away, made the bed, vacuumed all the floors, wiped baseboards, mopped the floor, did the dishes, bleached and sprayed off the plastic inner shower curtain (those things can get gross!), bleached the shower, and cleaned out the oven.

That level of productivity is enough to put a huge smile on my face. AND THEN, right as I sat down to answer Board questions, a bright beautiful rainbow showed up right outside my window. It's a pretty amazing day :)

Cheers,

Dear Smiles,

I've been pretty ecstatic today with Carl Jr! It's been a long, busy day as he's mentally developing and learning how to play more advanced with his toys. Today was a turning point and he's actually interacting with them instead of dismantling and destroying him. (For any parents out there who know what Wonder Weeks are, he's in leap 9.) He can now successfully stack his stacking cups, hit the balls with a hammer, and stack one block on top of another. With all of those toys, he would knock things over or bite them. Big transition! He was also super helpful with the laundry today and would take clothes out of my hands and put them in the dryer. It was sooo cute. Now I feel like I'm more prepared to have a second kid in the future if this continues.
