This is a comment, I just wanted to correct/add to my brother's (trueblat's) comment on Tuesday
on old cake mixes. It depends on the age. 1 year, you should be fine, 2 or more you want to add a little bit of baking powder and it should be fine.

(who had the densest, spongiest, oldest cake possible for her birthday one year (thus our family's experience with old cake mixes), and it eventually oozed syrup which was really odd, if anyone can tell me what the syrup was all about, please do)
