Dear 100 Hour Board,
I just returned home from a mission, and I'm returning to BYU for winter semester.
I'm planning on living at Wyview park for my first semester back. This morning (Tuesday), the waiting list for Wyview for winter semester opened. BYU, however, does not tell you what your position is on the waiting list.
Do any of you have any experience with wait-listing for Wyview for winter? Does it usually fill up quickly, or do I have a good chance of getting a spot?
I'm really set on Wyview, but I'd like to know sooner than later if I need to be looking for other arrangements. Thanks for your help

I wouldn't put all your eggs in one basket in getting into Wyview... but you very well could! I would put yourself on multiple waiting lists to ensure you aren't homeless if you don't get in. The closer it gets to winter semester, the longer the waiting lists are for other apartment complexes. Trust me, I was dumb and waited too long to find housing in the fall. It was NOT fun, and very stressful. The only reason why I wasn't homeless is because my cousin got the RA job and gave me her contract on Condo Row (highly recommend). Bless her! I also love Cinnamon Tree, I met my husband Carl there after all. They have a high marriage rate. -wink-
I have a friend who works at Wyview and she said Wyview has high turnover because of marriages and graduations, so if you're on the waiting list you have a good chance. BUT that doesn't guarantee anything. I agree with Goldie Rose, I'd look into other apartments and get on their waiting lists just in case. Better safe than finding out winter semester you have nowhere to live, not fun.
My friend also suggested calling campus accommodations because they could give you a better idea about your particular situation.
